Economic Support to Women in Cairo's Garbage District

The Michelle Sous Foundation, in partnership with ROOTA (Rising Out of the Ashes), has provided income-generating looms to women in Cairo’s Garbage District (the Zabaleen). The women recycle clothing remnants from cloth factories into rugs, bags, and other items that are sold in Egypt and internationally at craft sales. This is part of our Marketable Skills for Employment program. Help the Michelle Sous Foundation support projects such as these by donating here.
